Your work will directly lift the quality of community aged care, ensuring older people in the Jewish and wider community receive safe, inclusive and person-centred support. By equipping staff with the right tools, systems and training, you will create a ripple effect of dignity, empowerment and wellbeing across the community.

You will lead by doing, partnering and working closely with managers, staff and practice leaders to shape a consistent, person-centred model of care while lifting leadership capability at all levels of the organisation.

The Role
Reporting to the Director, Community Aged Care, the Head of Practice Excellence will:

  • Take a hands-on approach to designing, implementing and refining practice systems and training across Community Aged Care
  • Lead practice leaders to ensure safe, consistent and person-centred delivery
  • Build workforce capability and develop leadership at all levels, moving away from task-based approaches to a culture of accountability and empowerment
  • Partner with teams to embed regulatory compliance, clinical governance and continuous improvement
  • Engage staff, clients and families to ensure practice models are responsive and inclusive
  • Balance operational discipline with community-focused values in the delivery of care

About You
You are a practical, hands-on leader who thrives in shaping systems and uplifting people. You bring:

  • A passion for and experience in aged/community care or related sectors
  • Demonstrated success building practice frameworks, training and operational systems
  • The ability to engage and develop leaders at all levels – fostering accountability while maintaining a collaborative, community-focused ethos
  • Strong stakeholder skills, including experience working across community boards and professional leadership teams
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive and person-centred care
  • Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Social Work or related fields
