Counsellor (Psychologist) - Fixed Term Part Time  

About the Opportunity  

Join Jewish Care Victoria's Social Services team as a Psychologist or Qualified Registered Counsellor, where you'll provide essential psychological support to individuals and families in our community. Based at our office located in Windsor, this fixed-term part-time position with a view to permanency offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the community while working within a supportive, values-driven organisation.  

You'll deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, conduct assessments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive mental health & wellbeing support for clients with diverse needs. This role combines clinical expertise with community connection, offering variety and professional growth opportunities.  

What You'll Do 

  • Provide individual and group counselling services using evidence-based approaches 

  • Conduct psychological assessments and develop treatment plans 

  • Collaborate with social workers and community partners 

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and case notes 

  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development activities 

  • Support clients and families navigate mental health challenges with compassion and cultural sensitivity 

What You'll Bring 

  • Registered Psychologist with AHPRA registration or Qualified Registered Counsellor with PACFA/ACA registration  

  • Experience in community mental health or social services setting   preferred 

  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse communities 

  • Commitment to professional development and reflective practice
