Opportunities for qualified Personal Carers in Community Age Care

In Home Care: Our clients are based in St Kilda, Prahran, South Yarra, Elsternwick, Windsor, Caulfield, Carnegie, Bentleigh, & Surrounding Suburbs. You will need your own transport and drivers licence.

Your availability to work 20hrs per week between Monday-Sunday will be highly regarded.

About the Role:

You will provide personal care to our clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life.

• Provide assistance with a range of personal care including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments
• Support clients to maintain and develop independent living skills and routines in accordance to their Individual Care Plan
• Monitor the physical, social and emotional well-being of the client and report issues 
• Be responsible for taking immediate action in an emergency to ensure the safety of elders, staff, and others in the community 
• Resolve minor problems/enquires/requests and refer issues to the BlueStar team leaders when required 
• Develop an effective, positive and respectful working relationship with our elders respecting cultural values and beliefs

What you will bring to the role:

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Essential)
• Current drivers license and reliable vehicle (Highly Desirable)
• Mobile phone to receive your shifts and fortnightly roster
• Covid-19 Vaccination certificate (3-doses) or medical exemption
• Reliable to work a minimum of 3 days per week or 20hrs (Monday to Sunday)
• Warm and friendly personality, passionate about caring for our elderly clients
• Ability to speak Russian, Polish, Hebrew, Yiddish would be highly desirable but not essential
