Role focus: Strategic partner to a designated business unit, with strong employee and industrial relations emphasis

About the Opportunity:

Jewish Care Victoria is seeking an experienced People & Development Business Partner to play a pivotal role in shaping a positive, compliant and high-performing workplace culture.

In this trusted advisory role, you will partner closely with leaders across your portfolio, providing expert guidance on complex employee and industrial relations matters while driving the delivery of our People & Development strategy. This is a hands-on, influential role where your expertise will directly support leaders, strengthen workforce capability and contribute to meaningful organisational outcomes in a values-driven environment.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing specialist advice on complex employee and industrial relations matters
  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, ensuring alignment with legislation and best practice
  • Build leadership capability through coaching, practical tools and tailored resources
  • Conduct workplace investigations, mediation and dispute resolution with confidence and professionalism
  • Support enterprise bargaining processes and maintain effective relationships with unions and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to organisational change initiatives, workforce planning and broader people strategy outcomes

What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Industrial Relations, Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, ideally within aged care, health or community services
  • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation, awards and enterprise agreements
  • Proven ability to coach and influence leaders through complex and sensitive people matters
  • Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with HRIS systems (PayGlobal experience is desirable) and confidence using the MS Office suite
