About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about strengthening financial wellbeing and confident delivering education in community settings.

You bring empathy, strong financial literacy skills and a person-centred approach to helping individuals build long-term financial capability.

About the role:

  • Provide early intervention and preventative financial capability support to individuals and families experiencing financial stress or risk of hardship
  • Triage clients seeking financial assistance and assess suitability for capability support
  • Deliver person‑centred, strengths‑based casework including budgeting, cashflow management, saving strategies and goal setting
  • Support clients to build confidence, self‑efficacy and financial independence
  • Develop and deliver financial literacy education workshops in Jewish day schools and the wider Jewish community
  • Tailor education content for different age groups, life stages and cultural contexts
  • Facilitate group sessions, presentations and programs that build long‑term financial capability
  • Conduct ongoing assessment, develop case plans and coordinate referrals to internal and external services

Skills and Experience

  • Strong financial literacy, budgeting skills and understanding of household money management
  • Experience delivering workshops, group education or community programs
  • Background supporting individuals or families experiencing financial stress
  • Excellent communication, engagement and presentation skills
  • Strong time management, organisation and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Eligibility for affiliate membership with Financial Counselling Victoria (FCVic)
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain boundaries and uphold confidentiality
